Mark Lowenthal received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Prior to opening his private practice in Maplewood, NJ, he served as the director of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatric Program at Trinitas Hospital, in Elizabeth, NJ. He has been a longtime advocate on behalf of children with mental health issues, helping to shape policy on a state and local level.
Dr. Lowenthal is co-author of Smart Parenting for Smart Kids: Nurturing Your Child’s True Potential (Jossey-Bass/Wiley). He and his wife, a pediatrician, have two children.
